Alex is a highly experienced and internationally trained osteopathic manual therapist based in Calgary, Alberta, with over 30 years of dedicated clinical practice.
His philosophy as a therapist is rooted in treating the whole person, not just symptoms, by understanding how the body's structure, function, and history connect to long-term wellbeing.
Education & Credentials
- Graduated in Physiotherapy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas) in Brazil.
- Completed Osteopathy training at the Madrid School of Osteopathy (EOM) and earned a Diploma in Osteopathy from the Scientific European Federation of Osteopaths (SEFO).
- Additional advanced studies at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) and A.T. Still University (ATSU) in the United States.
- Advanced training in Functional Orthopedics, Traumatology, and Global Postural Re-education (RPG-Souchard).
Alex is also a longstanding educator in osteopathy, having served on the faculty of the Madrid School of Osteopathy and the Canadian Institute of Osteopathic Therapy (CIOT).
Professional Involvement
Alex has been actively involved in advancing osteopathic practice and standards in Canada, including roles such as:
- Past President and current member of the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists (AAOMT). AAOMT aligns with the Canadian national standard (CSA Z16686:20) and WHO training benchmarks.
- Former Vice-President and Board Member of the Canadian Federation of Osteopaths (CFO).
